LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK

“Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”                                                                                                     Luke 22:26-27

 

LUCA Academy believes that, as a Lucarian Leader, he should have qualities of a good follower with biblical spirit of self-sacrifice and a deep sense of purpose while he serves the community. At the same time, he also aims to thrive on personal, community and thought leadership. LUCA Academy Leadership Guidelines, based on Scriptures, with Jesus as a role model, through co-curriculum and other activities, serves as a platform to enable students to develop their leadership qualities. A good follower will have a heart that is always willing to listen and obey.

 

Luca Academy’s guidelines are in accordance with the text of Luke 22:26-27, and two rules are set up for Lucarians so that they may learn and shape their own leadership qualities.

2 Rules for LUCA Academy Leadership

We believe that as long as Lucarians follow these 2 Rules for LUCA Academy Leadership, they will bear five good fruits:

1) Model the Way

 

Lucarians create standards of excellence and then set an example for others to follow.  We put up signposts when people are unsure of where to go or how to get there, and we create opportunities to shine in the dark.

 

2) Challenge the Process

 

Lucarians search for opportunities to change the status quo.  We seek innovative ways to improve the team/community.  In doing so, we experiment and take risks but accept the inevitable disappointments as learning opportunities.

 

3) Enable Others to Act

 

Lucarians foster collaboration and build spirited teams.  We actively involve and strengthen others, making each person feel capable and powerful.

 

4) Inspire a Shared Vision

 

Lucarians passionately believe that we can make a difference.  We envision the future, creating an ideal and unique image of what the team/community can become.  We breathe life into others’ visions and get people to see exciting possibilities for the future.

 

5) Inspiring/Encouraging the Heart

 

Accomplishing extraordinary things is hard work.  To keep hope and determination alive, Lucarians recognize contributions that each individual makes.  In every winning team, the members need to share in the reward of their efforts, so Lucarians celebrate all accomplishments.
